REPTILES

Reptiles are air breathing, cold-blooded (ectothermic) tetrapod vertebrates (animals with backbones) that have scales layered over their skin.   

Reptiles are classified into four groups or orders known as:

1.   Crocodilia

(Alligators, Crocodiles, Caimens, Gharials)

2.  Squamata 

Lizards and Snakes

 3.  Testudines

(Turtles and Tortoises)

4.  Sphenodontia

(Tuatauas)
